According to the “Cook County Human Trafficking Task Force” since 2020 trafficking among LGBTQ teen communities experience violence, and homelessness. This puts LGBTQ-identified individuals at higher risk for human trafficking victimization.
HWI works to decrease state wide statistics. Increasing community support, offering services that address homelessness, economic security, victimized families, and advocacy; will eliminate the spread of human trafficking.
Human Trafficking has no color, or creed. It does not discriminate. HWI helps minorities, and indigenous people. Our hearts are extended to those who have language barriers, lack employment opportunities; or people in need of freedom from violence.
