If you want to help support Survivor Speakers Donate Today!

Survivor Speakers Group

$20.00
Pay with PayPal or a debit/credit card

Our Survivor Speakers Group is a program that empowers silenced voices. Survivors of Human Trafficking, Domestic Violence, and Gun Violence learn how to turn trauma into triumph. After a six month cycle they are given opportunities to speak at elaborate events. HWI encourages, and implements a entrepreneur mindset through our stipend program.  Your donations will allow HWI to give gift-cards/vouchers to participants once they request to publicly speak. Economic devaluing plays a huge role in the reasons why people are consistently victimized in Chicago.  This form of support will encourage healthy self esteem, boost resume experience, and limit violence by decreasing trauma after abuse; spreading awareness, and  increasing productivity  amongst surviving families. Survivor Speakers will always be supported by one of our staff members at any given event.  If you need Survivor Speakers, please email us.

Frequently Asked Questions???

  • I want my child to participate but I’m late. Can my child still be apart of your program? Absolutely! We believe no child is left behind. We can add your teenager to our waiting list. Our program is year round and we will definitely allow them to participate during the next start date.

I don’t want my teenager exposed to human sex trafficking will you speak to them about this? Yes and No. We will touch on predatory behavior and how it can be avoided but we will not go in-depth because we realize some of our teenagers are as young as thirteen years old. Our program is designed to support healthy self esteem so trafficking is avoided all together. However, they do need to be informed about predators so they will not willfully be exploited as they become adults.

Is this entire program free? Are the trips free? The giveaways? Emergency Assistance? Tutoring etc.?

Yes! All of our programs are absolutely free to the public. There are no hidden fees. We only ask you to participate because our Sponsors have donated in order to help us create opportunities for families within our communities.

  • When my child attends your field trip how will you keep them safe from Covid-19?  We purchased N95 Face mask for our field trip days. We also have sanitation stations that includes hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, and soap. Every child and parent will be Expected to take a Covid-19 test within the last seven days before the scheduled field trip.
  • Can my teenager wear what she wants to wear on field trip days? We allow teens to wear what ever bottoms they want but we purchased really cool t-shirts for every teenager so we are able to recognize and keep up with our group. Trust me, they will love them.
